Darrol (left) and me with our brother's bull at the Malibu property at 29714 W. Harvester Road, two and a half acres. This was taken in March 1952. We are facing the house. Zuma Beach is in the background (below cliffs). The house on the top left is just above the Pacific Coast Highway. The tall trees to the right is Al and Dotty Cigniglio's home. He owned A & B Plumbing ('A' was Al and 'B' was Bud). He was my father's customer at Santa Monica Plumbing Supply Co. My parents came to visit Al and Dotty and purchased this property adjoining the rear of their property. A year or so later, George and Maisy Buchanan, who were customers of my dad's, purchased property on Cuthberth Road, about a mile away. He was part owner of Buchanan and Hile Plumbing in Venice. My brother, Richard Smith, married Shirley Hile, daughter of Mr. Hile, George's partner.
