Description
Pictured here is the Alpha Beta open air market at 650 Pine Avenue. Large neon block letters mounted just above the wide entrance spell out the store's name. A horizontal multi-colored awning-like banner hangs just below the large letters. A wide variety of fresh produce is on display. Wicker baskets are stacked on the floor for use by shoppers. A number of weighing scales are distributed throughout the produce section. Signs propped on top of produce piles all read, "SALE." Prices include "Imperial Cantaloupes, 5 for 10 cents", "Juicy Selected Grapefruits, 10 cents," etc. In the background, the Examiner newspaper stand at far left is advertising a "$7500 Cash Puzzle Contest." DATE NOTES: Noted on image back. ORIG. IMAGE: 8" x 10" B&W glossy print. NEGATIVE: Yes. KEYWORDS: Food, grocers, grocery, stores.
