Photograph caption dated September 9, 1989 reads, "Mothers from a Watts housing project picketed Motown Records yesterday to urge black entertainers and athletes to help keep children off drugs and out of gangs. A Motown spokesman said later he knew nothing of the protest or CaShears, an entertainer who reportedly organized the mothers."
