"Mission residence in Nantungchow [now Nantong], Lois Anna Ely, U.C.M.S. Nantungchow, Nov. 13, 1930. Dear Mrs. Bryan, Will you have as merry a Christmas under your palms as we will under our plane trees? I hope so and that the year 1931 will be full of health and happiness for you and your dear ones. Sincerely yours, Lois Ely."
This photograph is from the papers of Frank and Verna Garrett who served under the United Christian Missionary Society in the Nanjing area from 1896 to 1932.
