Description
Photograph of a restored adobe that was once a mission Indian hut, San Juan Capistrano, 1939. A squat, one-and-a-half story adobe is pictured at center, its roof creating an awning over its front door. To the left, a wooden annex is visible painted the same color as the adobe, but which extends to the very edge of the roof thus denying an awning. The half-story on top of the building is made in similar wood construction as is an annex towards the back right. A garden hose can be seen hooked to a faucet just in front of the house. An earlier record reads "...was originally a hut of Mission Indians overlooking the great gardens and orchards of the Mission on the flat below".
