Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated September 12, 1961 partially reads, "Dark-haired, youthful Kay Brown of Reseda embarked Monday on a two-week honeymoon with 25 children. After the first day of the honeymoon, she sat in an empty Northridge room with her shoes off. She was tired. Her 25 children were gone, but they were scheduled to return this morning at 8:30 when Valley schools welcomed 111,000 elementary youngsters for the second day of the new school year. Kay, 24, 7044 Lindley Ave., is one of 1,000 city elementary teachers who are starting their first year of teaching this week. The 'honeymoon' name is often used to refer to the first two weeks of a teacher's semester."
