Description
1927 view of Fontana, showing the concrete Pacific Electric station (left), residences, various structures and farms. The eastern San Gabriel Mountains are partially visible through the haze in the background. Founded in 1913, Fontana was known primarily as a ranch and agricultural town until a steel mill operated by Kaiser Steel transformed the community during WWII and the post-war period.
