Manuscript autograph letter, dated 17 April 1781, from La Pérouse to Destouches, written on board the frigate Astree, off the coast of Nantucket. The letter is a single folded sheet, with writing on the first 3 pages. The fourth page is addressed to Destouches in Newport, and bears a red wax seal.
