Description
Rubricated leaf from a 13th century French breviary, finely written on choice vellum in a neat Gothic hand. The musical notations are of chaste mediaeval beauty. Dom J.M. Beyssac, O.S.B., has examined this manuscript and concludes that it was written in the 13th century for use in the Church of St. Pierre at Langres, France. Ill. with red, blue and green ink. Text and musical notation in black ink on red staffs. Blue initials encircled with red ink. Red initials encircled in green ink.
