Used in the Exhibit: Play by Play - A Century of L.A. Sports Photography, 1899-1989. Lisa Leslie made national headlines during her senior year at Inglewood's Morningside High, when she scored 101 points in the first half of a game. She might have broken the record--held by Cheryl Miller--but South Torrance elected not to play the second half. Leslie went on to star at USC; she now plays for the L.A. Sparks and recently became the first WNBA player to dunk in a game. Photo dated: January 5, 1989.
