Description
Photograph of a group of thirteen miners working to load rail cars with ore at mine run by Free Gold Mining Company, Hedges, California, ca.1905-1920. The miners are shoveling placer dirt into ore cars. Miners are shown in front of a small bluff made up of layered sand/clay deposits. One man is high on the bluff, deliberately causing the deposits to break free and slump to the base of the bluff for the shovelers.
