Description
This photograph shows several delegates to the Irrigation Congress in Sacramento in September of 1907. Both Yuba and Sutter Counties merged in a joint effort to entertain delegates of the Congress. One of the ways in which they did so was by awarding them badges engraved with "15th National Irrigation Congress, Sacramento, Cal., 1907," along with the phrase, "Science Bids the Dessert Drink," which could also be seen displayed above the delegates. Almost all of the men in the photo could be seen with a badge pinned to the left side of their suits.
