Description
Photograph shows a woman sitting next to a man at a Grange meeting. She is wearing a sash that reads "California State [Grange]." There is a small bouquet of flowers on the table in front of her.
The National Grange of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry was founded in 1867 as an fraternal organization of farmers. The organization's goals are to promote the economic and political interests of America's farmers. From 1871-1873, several local, subordinate Granges were created in California. These local groups founded the California State Grange, which was established in Napa on July 15, 1873.
Scanned with Microtek Scanmaker 1000XL Pro; as a 600 dpi TIFF image in 8-bit Grayscale. Auto Level image processing applied and compressed into JPEG format using Photoshop CS3.
