Original photograph has a horizontal crease in the middle of the picture. Photograph caption dated November 20, 1962 partially reads "At top left, the runners from Canoga Park and Cleveland high schools start their grueling run as the sun begins to set behind the hills that border the Pierce College cross country course. Although this is a sport that draws relatively little spectator interest when compared to football and basketball, it does draw every ounce of energy from competitors and provides fans with many thrilling individual duels. Cleveland won all-West League crown yesterday. East Valley League runners compete tomorrow at Pierce." Pierce College is in Woodland Hills.
