Letter from the secretary of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Alameda County, located at the Stocker-Holland Building at 808 Broadway in Oakland, CA dated December 24, 1911. The stationery features a list of directors and honorary vice-presidents, as well as an image of horses hitched to a wagon. The text of the letter, addressed to Mr. Charles Green, City Librarian of the Free Public Library of Oakland, CA, offers a list of books (enclosed with the original letter) about humane animal treatment for consideration for the children's department of a branch of the library proposed on the site of the Moss house.
