This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "George Barron delivering oration." This photo was taken at the memorial services at the grave of Senator David C. Broderick, probably on the 50th anniversary of his death in a duel with David S. Terry in 1859. Barron is seen at the base of the tombstone, with people gathered below. Another monument is seen in the background, along with the skyline of San Francisco. This photo goes with the one preceding it.
