Photograph was edited for publication purposes The Haynes Street School located at 6624 Lockhurst Street, Canoga Park closed in 1982 due to a lack of enrolled students. Over the years, the building was leased to private organizations. It is currently a charter school known as the Haynes Charter for Enriched Studies. The address is now 6624 Lockhurst Street in the community of West Hills, formerly part of Canoga Park. Photograph caption dated April 29, 1963 reads, "Sixth grade students in room 26 at Haynes Street School, Canoga Park, have arranged to send 5,000 books on science, history and literature to an elementary school in the Philippines. Above, Carol Carlson, 11 1/2, Kathleen Orme, 11 1/2, look at film strips which will be sent to the school when they obtain a film strip projector. In the foreground, books are studied by Paul Rinne, 11 1/2, Todd Brandtman, 11 1/2, and David Whitefield, 10."
