Description
Photograph was edited for publication purposes; Title supplied by cataloger.
Photograph article dated June 4, 1963 partially reads "Instead, we found the wacky-eyed, lovable character in the photo. It's a 100-year-old automaton from Germany, made of papier-mache and cleverly painted and dressed in the image of a prince from Arabia. With enthusiastic self-assurance, the wacky fellow repetitiously pours a coffee-like liquid into a cup, raises the cup to his lips, drinks, then lowers the cup for another filling. If you drop in at Ruthie's Shoppee (18535 Ventura), ask Ruthie to press the hidden switch and set Mr. Wacky in motion." The antique shop is in Tarzana.
