Description
Designed by Meyer & Holler, Incorporated, of Los Angeles, Walker's Department Store was completed in 1929. Shown here is a portion of the building at 401 Pine Avenue, visible at upper left. Featured in this image is a large construction company sign, which reads: "The Walker Building; Opening Spring 2001; www.TheWalkerBuilding.com; Sales Information (888)9 WALKER; 39 Luxury Loft Condominiums; 7 Custom Panoramic View 2-Story Penthouses; 15,000 Square Foot Commercial/Retail Space Available; Call 562-432-7800, or Visit Our Website At: www.TheWalkerBuilding.com." Illustrations on the sign show a 1950's shopping couple, an artist's picture of the interior of a new condo, and a third picture showing the upper half of the building, with its art deco embellishments.
