Description: The new Hill Street bridge across Sunset Blvd. on September 10, 1959, providing a time-saving connection from downtown Los Angeles and the Civic Center to the Pasadena Freeway. The bridge has six traffic lanes and extends Hill to Castelar. It opened this day.
