Photograph caption dated March 27, 1965 reads, "Fr. Edward Cunningham, O.M.I., an instructor of Freshman religion at Alemany High School, holds LIFE magazine editorial on the last encyclical of Pope John XXII. 'The Future is Ours' is a frequently repeated quote from the Pope's 'Pamem in Terris,' issued just before Easter, 1963."
