A barker tries to entice customers into a sideshow on the midway at The Pike amusement park south of Ocean Blvd. in Long Beach. The sideshow advertises "Living Oddities, Strange People" and displays paintings of Electra (a woman dressed like Wonder Woman), Sword Swallower, Headless Girl, etc. The canvas above the entrance displays cartoonish images of a fat lady, a giant, a merman, etc. and states "Some of the world's greatest freaks, past and present". The crowd contains a large number of sailors in uniform.; Started in 1902, The Pike amusement park ran until 1979.
