Description
"The Jaipur Gardens were originally began as a famine relief work in 1868 – 69. The site was selected by Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh near the city so that all might be able to visit the gardens. The area is about 46 acres. The Band Master is a German and the Bandsmen are natives taught to use all the European musical instruments. They play European and Indian music very well.” External view of gardens and band stand at Jaipur. ❧ United Free Church of Scotland photographs from the Rajputana mission.
