Description
Astronomy graduate student Nicholas Mayall writes to EPH regarding the limiting magnitude numbers found by Mayall and EPH. He lists results he has obtained with Crossley plates and states the distribution constant he has calculated. He does not remember bringing back plates of NGC 4051, but copies are nevertheless being sent to EPH. The observatory is most likely purchasing a zero-power correcting lens for the Crossley telescope.
