Photograph article dated august 16, 1958 partially reads, "Snoopy, North Hollywood's friendly white rat, has more friends than he can shake his tail at and they are all concerned about his future. But the neighborhood is divided over the question, "Should Snoopy be caught or allowed to run free?" This question became important when Snoopy left his cozy drainpipe home between 12214 and 12216 Victory Blvd. Tuesday and bit the right forefinger of Brian Ryles, 3, of 14358 Martha St., Van Nuys. Officials have tried to "persuade" the rat to leave his two-inch wide hole so he can be checked for rabies. But Snoopy refuses to give up." Snoopy, the rat comes out for lunch.; See image #00119098 for additional photo in this series.
