Description
Construction of the new Mount Wilson Observatory office building, Pasadena. Excavation shows concrete being poured for basement. The handwritten caption below the photograph reads: "S.B.S. Office building. Sub-basement : rooms for ruling engines. ca. 1912". The formwork for the concrete foundation is seen in the foreground; a bucket is suspended above that area. A private dwelling is seen in teh background, beyond the construction area.
