"Stellenbosch. Die Reihnische Kirche." ("Stellenbosch. The Rhenish Church."). The picture shows a path leading to a high church building. To the left and right of the path grass. Next to the church stand two archways with a bell hanging in each archway. The church is surrounded by a fence with posts. Behind the church on the left and right side trees. Behind the trees on the left other buildings. A Mountain in the background. Written on the card board: "Br. Baudert 1930." ("Br[other] Baudert 1930."). Cf. photo no. 7072. Photo no. 7072 shows the church from the inside. -- The picture was probably taken by Samuel Baudert (1879-1956), born as son of the missionary Samuel Baudert in South Africa. He was the mission director of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine from 1924 to 1927 and since 1929 their bishop. It might also be possible that the picture was taken by Eugen Theodor Baudert (1876-1953) who worked as a lecturer at the theological seminar in Mvenyane.
