Description
Image shows Belmont Shore beach near the Belmont Pier. The sandy shore is filled with a large crowd of people and umbrellas. Early Pike amusements are visible in the background. Readable signs include: "Foss Amusements Hippodrome;" "New and Modern Bathhouse;" "Hancock Gasoline, Martin Service Garage, 24 Hour Service;" "Belmont Beach Bathhouse." An elevated concrete observation area is noted at far left in the image. DATE NOTES: Circa 1900. ORIG. IMAGE: 7.5" x 11" sepia matte print.
