A gathering of Hopi men, women and children at a pool of water.
Title transcribed from item; misspellings corrected by cataloger. Signed on mount, "Frederick Monsen." Monsen's handwritten label on back says: "The Flute Ceremony. Michongnovi [i.e. Mishongnovi], Arizona. The Flute Dance is one of the most poetic and beautiful of all Hopi ceremonials. At the moment the picture was taken, the priest is blessing the Spring by placing offerings in the water."
