Description
In the center of this long aerial view is the Long Beach Pike, showing the Cyclone Racer roller coaster, the Plunge bathhouse, parking area, and amusement rides. The Ocean Center building and the Jergins Trust/Markwell building can be seen in the lower right corner of the print. Ocean Boulevard extends from the lower right corner to the center of the image"s upper edge. Many of the buildings on Ocean Boulevard can be seen, including the Blackstone and Sovereign Hotels. A portion of Lincoln Park is also visible along the center right edge of the image. A wide expanse of sandy beach can be seen along the shoreline at left. Pine Avenue runs horizontally in the foreground, leading to the left onto the Rainbow Pier. The mouth of the Los Angeles River is at upper left, and the river itself runs along the upper edge of the image. Three bridges are shown crossing the river, at Seaside Boulevard, Ocean Boulevard, and Broadway. DATE NOTES: Noted on image back. ORIG. IMAGE: 8" x 10" B&W glossy print. NEGATIVE: Yes.
