Description: Black and white lantern slide showing a group of Indian boys sitting opposite each other to form a track or pathway. Older boys sit in the shade of the mission building behind them. A banner can be seen on the mission building which reads: "GOD SAVE THE EMPEROR." The banner refers to King George V (1865-1936), king of the United Kingdom and its dominions and Emperor of India, reigning from 1910 until his death in 1936. The photograph may have been taken at an institutional or national celebration. This slide comes from a collection created by missionaries from Regions Beyond Missionary Union, an interdenominational Protestant evangelical mission working in northeast India (Bihar and Orissa) and Nepal.
