Page 63 of the 1942 Franciscan yearbook (SFSU_UARC_0006) describes the victories of the boxing season that includes John Kikuchi and lists Kikuchi in the photograph on page 62. Kikuchi was denied a letterman’s jacket with the Block “S” because he missed the Athletics Awards Dinner held in March 1942. In 1990, Kikuchi received his letterman’s jacket and was recognized as a varsity athlete at San Francisco State. The University Archives serves as the collective memory of San Francisco State University containing unique and original source material of our University's colorful history.
