A group of 50 veterans and members of their families are shown as they appeared in the office of District Attorney William E. Simpson on July 24, 1947, asking for criminal complaints against two firms. The firms, they charged, "gyped" them in a "tie-in" deal, under which they were compelled to buy furniture in order to get a home constructed.
