Description
Wheelwright's or blacksmith's cast iron tool used for measuring wagon wheels for iron rims. The traveler was used to measure the circumference of the outside of the wheel to determine how long to cut the iron for the rim. Handle holds wheel with five S-shaped spokes and 1 dial hand. At top of the wheel are markings for 24 inches by eighths.
