Pictured are participants in the 50th annual convention of Tinder Box and Dunhill of London, sponsors of the world record pipe contest. One of the competitors is identified as Glenn Anderson, who is buried in a cloud of smoke (though, it is unclear which cloud of smoke is his). Anderson smoked the 3.3 grams in 89 minutes, five seconds, but, he was not the champion. The actual winner of the contest was Dick Clark, 53, of Tampa; unfortunately, Clark's winning time is not known. Photograph dated August 17, 1978.
