“Mission House - Anelcahaut [Anelcauhat], Aneityum [Anatom] (Mr. Lawrie’s House).” Exterior view of a modern-style clapboard house with a metal sheet roof and veranda, surrounded by palm trees and a wooden fence. James Hay Lawrie, his wife Margaret, and their child are just visible next to the gate. Lawrie was a Presbyterian missionary from Edinburgh and based on Aneityum, New Hebrides [Vanuatu], from 1879-1896. Later he was minister of several charges in New South Wales. They had four children. Margaret died in 1922 and her husband in 1929.
