Description
Photograph of Brannan and Ninth Street, showing cracks caused by the earthquake, San Francisco, 1906. Tracks stripe the broken cobblestone street at center, running from the right foreground to the center distance. Along the side of the left-most track the stones of the street are separated in a long crack which extends down the entire road. A second crack can be seen in the foreground on the far left where the street surged up. Damaged buildings stand on the sidewalks on either side.
