Description
This is the travel journal that George Pepperdine kept during the sea voyage on the "City of Los Angeles" liner from Los Angeles to Hawaii in October 1924. The journal, produced by the Kiggins & Tooker Company in 1914, includes forward material with tips and resources for traveling at sea, including a guide to the funnels and house flags of various ocean liners, currency guides, and methods for keeping time aboard a ship. Pepperdine's handwritten account chronicles his travels from Los Angeles (Oct. 11) through his departure from Honolulu (Oct. 26). About half of the journal is blank and these pages have not been scanned.
