Original print is damaged. Photograph article dated June 3, 1961 partially reads, "Jackie Leonard sat on sofa's edge in his North Hollywood home living room Friday, his large hands nervously toying with a book of paper matches. The Frankie Carbo trial had ended two days before in Los Angeles Federal Court. Carbo, alleged underworld czar of boxing, and four confederates had been convicted of extortion and conspiracy. They had tried to muscle in on the earnings of ex-welterweight champion Don Jordan by threatening Leonard, former Hollywood Legion Stadium promoter, and Jordan's manager, Don Nesseth. Carbo lost. Leonard had turned witness for the prosecution, and the trial, except for appeals, was over. But not for Leonard, his blonde wife, Jeanne, and 14-year-old Jackie Jr. 'We're going to have to move,' said Leonard softly, slowly, a short, cold cigar stub in his lips. 'We don’t know where. We want to stay in the Valley.'" Photograph caption reads, "The Jackie Leonards peer out of their living room window. 'It's been a real tough thing for Jeanne to go through.'"; See images #00135288 through #00135290 for all photos in this series.
