Photograph caption dated March 18, 1960 reads, "Canoga Park Cub Scout Pack 319 leader John Currin, left, is greeted by Gene Bergner, founder and first Scout Master of the pack at the Cubs' annual Blue and Gold Banquet at Ram's Horn, in celebration of Scouting's 50th anniversary. Currin, a TWA jet pilot, assumed leadership of the more than 50 Cub Scouts while Bergner announced activation of Boy Scout Troop 319. Both Scout groups are sponsored by the Canoga Park Optimist Club. Looking on under the handshake is Cub Scout John Currin."
