Photograph was edited for publication purposes.; Title supplied by cataloger. John George Agar (1921-2002) was a sergeant in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He married 17-year-old Shirley Temple on September 19, 1945, and retired from the Army in 1946. Agar became an actor, and the couple made two films together, "Fort Apache" and "Adventure in Baltimore". Agar and Temple were married five years, and had one daughter together, Linda Susan Agar. The marriage became troubled, and they filed for divorce on December 5, 1949; it was finalized exactly one year to the day. On January 1950, just a month after her divorce, Temple met WWII Navy Silver Star hero Charles Alden Black, and the two married on December 16, 1950. Agar also re-married following his divorce from Temple; he wed model Loretta Barnett Combs in 1951. About 700 guests attended the wedding reception held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Temple, located on Rockingham Road in Brentwood, where the receiving line was so long that it took two hours for some to reach the smiling bride and bridegroom.
