Photograph caption date stamped November 24, 1964 reads, "L.A. State's quarterback Dunn Marteen, shown ready to throw a pass against Valley State last Saturday, was voted by the CCAA as 'Back of the Week' and also received his second 'Gold Helmet' award from the Southern California Football Writers Association. Marteen scored 30 of L.A.'s 62 points, rushed for 180 yards on 17 carries and completed six of eight passes for 121 yards against Valley State."
