Description
Photograph of a view of Main Street north from the west side of First Street, Los Angeles, ca.1926. The street is lined with large buildings, the smallest of which is a long, two-story building at left. There is a three-story building at center, and several large Victorian houses at right. The buildings at left have flat roofs and lines of tall, narrow windows. Awnings protrude from the first story in several places. The side of the street is lined with early-model automobiles, and several pedestrians can be seen walking the sidewalk. Legible signs include, from left to right, "Zelman Furniture Co.", "H. P. Slagle Signs of All Kinds", "Signs", "Lopez Bros. Fine Merchant Tailors", "Teas Richert Bros. Coffees", "Clean Beds", "Hotel Rooms [...] Beds", and "Rescue Mission".
