Republican mural, Divis St, International Wall, West Belfast, 2012. Mural commemorates start of first IRA Hunger Strike 1980; Forced to endure years of brutality, humiliation, degradation and torture, the prisoners embarked on hunger strike 27th October 1980; images of women involved in the prison protests at the time, including posters and Republican newspaper An Phoblacht/Republican News; on 1st Dec 1980, three women in Armagh Women's prison joined the Hunger Strike - Mairead Farrell (represented right, reading paper), Mairead Nugent and Mary Doyle (on posters).
