Description
Photograph of a group of canoers on a lake, ca.1940. Fifteen long boats with a person on each end of the boats glide along a still lake. In the center foreground, a woman sits in the front of a lightly colored boat while a boy sits in the back. The boats have three wooden poles that run from side to side and divide the boat into four parts. The couples in the boat seem to consist of a man and women and all of the people wear bathing suits. Land covered in bushes and high grass is visible in the background.
