Description
Alma McPhee was the wife of former California State Polytechnic University President Julian McPhee (1896-1967), who presided over Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Pomona from 1933 to 1966. The Cal Poly campuses were all-male until 1961. Alma was known as the right hand to her husband and played an influential role in the campus becoming co-ed. In this interview, she shares her personal experience regarding the campuses' transitions throughout her husbands appointment.
