Description
Photograph of a view of earthquake damage in San Francisco, showing the City Hall building, 1906. A sea of debris lies in the foreground with the broken city beyond it at center. The large buildings of the city have fallen, leaving lone walls standing and interior frames exposed. The dome tower of the City Hall building can be seen in the middle of the damaged buildings with its outer walls stripped from the frame. The crumbled buildings continue into the mountain in the background.
