Photograph of Peshliki, a Navajo Indian silversmith, and an assistant(?) sitting outside Peshliki's shop (and hogan) on the Tohatchi Indian Reservation near Gallup, New Mexico, ca.1901. They are sitting on rocks near the entrance with their forearms leaning on their knees. The hogan is constructed from rocks mortared together with a wooden roof and wooden doors. Little grows on the rocky landscape.
