The receiving set, called a "light valve," passes the incoming impulses through a ribbon in a magnetic field, causing the ribbon to deflect and variably uncover a light aperture. The light, thus varied in intensity, falls on the film and duplicated the lights and shades of the original picture. Miss Lorenzen shows the finished picture, transmitted in 7 minutes.
