Aerial view of the Ford Motor Company, Mercury Plant site located at 8900 E. Washington Boulevard in Pico Rivera; view is looking west. Plant is in early stages of construction and located on the corner of Rosemead Boulevard (diagonally, middle bottom to middle left) and Washington Boulevard (diagonally, lower left to middle right); Paramount Boulevard runs diagonally (middle right to top left corner), and Rio Hondo parallels it at extreme top. The 157-acre manufacturing facility was dedicated on May 6, 1948; the plant closed in 1980 and was purchased by Northrop Grumman in 1982. Photograph dated September 12, 1956.
